We are thrilled to announce a series of updates and improvements to our World of Warcraft server. The CMangos development team has been hard at work, implementing changes to enhancing gameplay experience. Here’s a summary of the key updates:
August 16, 2024
- Quest Greeting Adjustments: A new configuration option has been added, allowing quest greetings to only show if players have more than one menu option available. If you prefer the previous behavior, you can easily revert to it via the config settings.

- Playerbot Enhancements: Disabled map optimizations for playerbots when
sPlayerbotAIConfig.disableBotOptimizations
is active, ensuring full activity for your playerbots at all times. This change gives you more flexibility in managing bots without compromising performance. - Experience and Reputation Fixes: A fix has been applied to ensure kill reputation is properly diminished, providing a more accurate and balanced experience gain system.
- PvP Improvements: World states will no longer be sent if they are disabled for specific scenarios, such as in SI and EP, streamlining performance during intense PvP battles.
- Transport and Creature Updates: Several improvements were made to ensure correct
HighGuid
for transports, and we’ve implemented new static flags for creatures, enhancing the stability and reliability of NPC interactions. - Spell and AI Fixes: The “Dream Vision” spell no longer allows autohit, addressing a longstanding issue. Additionally, we’ve resolved errors related to combat timers in AI scripts, ensuring smoother combat experiences.
- Anticheat Enhancements: Added safeguards against missing results for Warden scans, enhancing our anticheat systems to maintain a fair and secure gaming environment.
- Loot and Script Improvements: We’ve increased error handling for loot-related operations and added enhancements to script commands, improving the overall stability and predictability of loot interactions.

- OpenSSL and MySQL Updates: Significant updates were made to our bundled libraries, including OpenSSL and MySQL, improving compatibility and security on Windows platforms. Support for legacy OpenSSL 1.1.1 has been dropped, aligning with our goal of maintaining a modern and secure codebase.

- Raid and Quest Enhancements: The infamous C’Thun reset issue during the second phase after tentacle despawn has been resolved, ensuring a smoother raid experience. Additionally, we’ve modernized the Warlock Mount Quest, “Dreadsteed of Xoroth,” providing a more engaging and blizzlike experience.
- PvP and Honor Adjustments: Refined the honor granting system on PvP kills to better reflect the original Blizzard-like experience, ensuring fair and balanced PvP interactions.
