As the year draws to a close, we’re thrilled to share all the exciting updates from the last two months from the brilliant team and dedicated people at CMangos, for the Splashgame Community World of Warcraft realm. Whether you’ve been exploring the world solo or diving into dungeons with our PlayerAI bots, there’s a lot to unpack. Here’s a detailed overview of what’s been improved and added in November and December!
December 2024 Updates
December 13 – Fixes and Enhancements
Playerbots
- Fixed a critical server deadlock issue, ensuring smoother stability.
- Reduced spam from Auction House bots for a cleaner experience.
Quest Fixes
- Resolved a critical issue in “The Missing Diplomat – Part 8” quest in Stormwind (#694).
AI and Combat Behavior
- Mobs under crowd control (like polymorph) delay assisting allies until the effect ends, improving tactical play.
- Bots now remount and adjust speed automatically, enhancing mobility.
Spawn Groups and Instances
- Improved spawn group mechanics for better dungeon creature behavior.
- Optimized instance ID resets for more efficient resource handling.
Technical Fixes
- Pre-loaded MMAP files and addressed VMAP compilation warnings to improve thread safety and server performance.
- Adjusted spell system attributes to fix cooldown triggers.
December 8 – Quality of Life Updates
- Fixed broken UI frames when reconnecting during combat.
- Cleaned up compiler warnings in the
git_idhelper utility.
December 7 – Raid Mechanics
- C’Thun Encounter: Fixed phase transition mechanics for a smoother and more reliable fight in Ahn’Qiraj.
November 2024 Updates
November 15 – Key Changes
PlayerAI Bots
- Initial increase of PlayerAI bots from 15 to 30, doubling the assistance available to players.
Raid Fixes
- Onyxia Encounter: Resolved mechanics for her Deep Breath ability, ensuring proper execution and challenge.
Quest Fixes
- Fixed several bugs, including the “Corrupted Windblossom” quest and issues in “The Spirits of Southwind.”
November 7 – Infrastructure and Mechanics
- Upgraded the PlayerAI bot system with better gear and talent usage for more effective support.
- Adjusted trash mob respawn rates in dungeons and raids for a more balanced experience.
- Enhanced the LFG system to better integrate with PlayerAI bots, making it easier for solo players to enjoy group content.
